Be Polite at the Job Interview
Be courteous and polite at your job interview. When I worked for a company in the past, I often had to sit at the front reception desk to break the receptionist for lunch. While sitting there one day, a girl came in for an interview. I advised her that she needed to fill out an application prior to being seen. She abruptly looked at me and stated “I don’t need to fill one out I have a resume.” Unfortunately for her, this was company policy. Everyone had to fill out an application before being interviewed.
She wasn’t too happy about this. I took it upon myself to advise the manager of her rudeness after the interview. Needless to say, this woman did not get hired.
Being rude to the first person you see can have a large impact on wether you get hired or just passed on by. Often the receptionist or front desk people will write notes on your application. Such as “he was nice” or “rude man.” Being rude doesn’t impress anyone. Be courteous and polite to everyone you see. You never know who will have an impact the final outcome of your interview.
