Mock Interview
I recommend that you have a mock interview. A mock interview is a practice interview that you do at home. A dry run so to speak, preparing you for the real thing.
The first step is to go online to sites such as this one that have sample job interview questions. Using Word or Excel, copy and paste these questions into a list. Compile a list of around 30 of the most common questions. Make it more if you want to have more variety.
Then you get your friends, family, spouse, kids, neighbors, roommates, yoga instructor, whoever you can, to interview you. They should use the list that you compiled. Make sure you go through every question once.
The interview should be as official as you can make it. Set aside 20 minutes, some privacy, and pretend it's a real interview. Sit at a desk if you can.
You should be concentrating on posture, eye contact, body language, and most importantly...your answers. A mock interview gives you a chance to see what you are doing wrong and where you need help.
Have your interviewer critique you and let you know what they did and didn't like. If you don't have time to answer all of your questions, at least read through them all and have some decent answers in your head.
Do the mock interview the day or evening before the real interview so the answers will stay fresh in your mind. Practice with the tougher questions to ensure that you have intelligent and well thought out answers.
Hopefully, the mock interview will prepare you for the real thing. Hope it helps, and good luck on your interview!
