Should I Take the Other Position?

You are offered a position that you didn’t apply for. What do you do now? This is very simple. Get all the answers before you decide you are not interested.

An employer may ask you if you would be interesred in another job for the simple reason that you are not what they are looking for in the job that you interviewed for but believe you still would be an asset to the company.  read more »

Be Polite at the Job Interview

Be courteous and polite at your job interview. When I worked for a company in the past, I often had to sit at the front reception desk to break the receptionist for lunch. While sitting there one day, a girl came in for an interview. I advised her that she needed to fill out an application prior to being seen. She abruptly looked at me and stated “I don’t need to fill one out I have a resume.” Unfortunately for her, this was company policy.  read more »

Changing for an Interview

Recently I had a job interview. Normally they are scheduled during regular working hours. So it’s typical to have to take an hour or two off from your current job to go to the interview.

You should always look your best when you show up for an interview. One problem, the company I currently work for is casual dress. If I show up in my suit and tell them I have to leave at 3:00, that’ll send a red flag. It’s very important that you don’t let your current employer know that you are looking for a new job.  read more »
