Questions to ask at an Interview
During every job interview, the interviewer will give you an opportunity to ask them some questions about the position, company, etc. This is a good opportunity to get some of your questions answered. Plus, if you have good questions for the interviewer it makes you look like you’ve done your homework and are serious about the job.
Some questions to consider are:
- What are the hours?
- Will there be any overtime?
- Will I be working in a team environment or by myself?
- How many people are being considered for this position?
- Is the position hourly or salary?
- How much is the hourly or salary wage?
- Who will I be reporting to?
- When do you plan on making a decision?
- How much vacation time do you offer?
- Are holidays paid?
- What is the dress code?
- What are the benefits?
- Do you pay weekly or bi-weekly?
- Ask how long HR/interviewer has worked there?
- What is the management style?
- The other employees that I will be working with, what are their backgrounds or personality types?
These are just some basic questions to ask. I’m sure there are quite a few more. Also, depending on the position that you are interviewing for there might be specific questions relating to that industry/position.
If anyone has any others I may have overlooked, please feel free to post them in the comments.
